The team at PJU would like to take a moment to express gratitude and appreciation for our colleague Jake Cousins. Jake joined our team in 2017 and has been a valuable and admired member of our staff for their commitment to our mission and vision, dedication to supporting staff, and community partners, alongside their generosity in kindness and compassion.
We will miss Jake and remember their contribution and devotion to the work with warm thoughts and memories.
We asked Jake what he would take with him as memories from their time at PJU. They stated that the work PJU did to support RiseUp Community School in the wake of traumatizing police overreach, and the passage of PJU’s early childhood disciplinary reform bill in 2019. For Jake, it was invaluable that our team could respond directly to the needs of families, students, and educators and made real headway on critical issues impacting their daily lives.
Jake is invested and committed to supporting the continued growth of PJU. For them, “the organization has done so much for Colorado families, and there is so much work left to do. I know this is the right group to lead profound change, and I can't wait to see PJU exercise that power on an even larger scale.”
When asked what they will miss the most, without hesitation, they replied that they will miss the staff and members the most as they make PJU what it is. Jake continued to note that “never before have I experienced a workplace so urgently united behind a collective calling to push for transformative progress.”
Jake, we know you will tackle this new adventure with the same passion and dedication you've displayed as part of our team. We wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavors.
Sincerely,
Your PJU Family |
